Rick Sparhawk — PUBLISHER

As founding member of the ‘70s bionic bluegrass group, Montezuma’s Revenge, this singer/songwriter has played the prestigious old-school venues like the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the Palomino Club in North Hollywood, the Ice House in Pasadena, and other noteworthy events such as the Calgary Stampede, Newport Pop Festival, and the Grammy Awards. He has written and recorded numerous albums since his years with Montezuma’s Revenge. He has also authored a children’s book, and specializes in public art sculptures and murals.

EDITOR-in-CHIEF – Jon Kanis

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Jon has spent the last 40 years passionately honing his skills in the near-perfect climes of San Diego, California. As a musician, his adventures have taken him all over the globe, performing over 1,000 gigs as a solo troubadour and bassist/vocalist. His work as a producer earned him a Grammy-nomination and an Achievement in Film award from the Blues Foundation for the American Folk Blues Festival 1962–1966 DVDs and CDs in 2004. As a radio host and DJ, he produced hundreds of weekly radio programs between 2006 and 2011 titled State Controlled Radio. Between 1999 and 2005 he co-created the world’s largest music film archive with Reelin’ in the Years Productions. His solo musical projects have included the double LP Cabalistic Dispatch with Mike Keneally, the Fundamentalism Is the Only Way LP with Christopher Hoffee, and the Walk Without Me EP with Wondermints. In 2014 Jon was honored by the San Diego Book Awards in the category of Best Nonfiction—History and Biography for his anthology Encyclopedia Walking: Pop Culture and the Alchemy of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is putting the finishing touches on Volume Two.

The list of artists that Jim Soldi has played with is a Who's Who of country music. It includes Johnny Cash (four years), Ricky Skaggs (two years), Johnny Paycheck, Waylon Jennings, Skip Ewing, and even Brooke Shields. When he’s not busy touring, Jim produces music at the Out House Recording Studios in Ramona, California.
